To the Delegates of District 55B

To the Delegates of District 55B:

One day more.

Tomorrow is a big day. It’s the third No Kings Rally, and it’s going to be the biggest one yet. And Minnesota is the star of the show. We’ve got incredible rallies planned all over.

I wish I could be there.

But tomorrow, I’m going to be doing something just as important as No Kings - I’ll be attending the SD55 Convention.

Yes - it’s just as important.

Democracy is many things. It’s about showing up at the voting booth, it’s about standing on the streets protesting, and it’s about walking into a convention of passionate citizens where we will debate and discuss and determine what the future holds for SD55.

And you’re a part of that.

I understand if you choose to go to No Kings. Believe me. If I weren’t a candidate, I know I’d have a hard time deciding where to go. Not only do I understand you choosing to go to No Kings, I openly applaud you fighting for our democracy.

But for those of you who are coming to the SD55 convention… I want you to know this. You are also fighting for our democracy.

Be proud of that.

Lift your head high, and be proud of the work you will do tomorrow. You came on a frozen Tuesday night because you believed in the Great American Experiment. You signed up to be a delegate because you wanted to make your voice heard.

And whatever you choose to do tomorrow - march in No Kings, attend online, or come to the SD55 Convention - I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Because you are democracy.

And it takes all of us to build a better Minnesota - to build a better world.
